Hi!
We’ve been away for a... while. In that time, many things have changed. You’ve probably changed a bit; at least enough for things from before March 2020 you might feel ‘meh’ to you.
This is great because we’ve changed too. Our idea for this newsletter has gotten a bit more ambitious since we last wrote to you. We still very much intend to try to make you laugh where we can and we still hold the same ideals: we are still a relentlessly intersectional feminist newsletter that curates the news into bitesize information from a socioeconomic standpoint. Beyond that, though, we want to discuss how this news affects us.
We realized that just spitting the news at you every week isn’t enough so we want to ask the right questions— What would happen if Nigeria were to deploy 50 million people to the army? Why does the ‘herds men’ insurgency seem to be getting worse? What even are the real-life implications of this 5G gossip nonsense? Stuff like that.
“The End SARS protest and the impact it had across Africa has taught us many things. One of my biggest takeaways is that we have to keep the conversations going.” Adetomiwa
So, every week, we’ll talk current news, and add quotes from experts (could be you if you’re interested 😌). This is how we intend to keep the conversations going.
We’re also working on other exciting things that we will not share yet because we’re lowkey not sure how we’ll pull them off. We just know we will
Adetomiwa here— This newsletter is very important to me (it’s like my baby!) and I’m very thankful to you and everyone else who reads all the hard work put into it.
We’ll be back to regular news stuff next week! See you then
