I want to start off this newsletter by saying thank you.
Thank you for following our work since we launched about a year ago in 2019, thank you for attending our events, for sharing feedback and, to that one lady who scolded us but still stayed, thanks for not unsubscribing.
We appreciate all the time you have taken out to read our stories. We have learnt a lot about ourselves and our team (e.g. Adetomiwa can be really bossy), and we hope that you have taken valuable lessons out of our curated news musings. Beyond that, though, we hope that we have been able to nudge you in the right direction and helped to identify who it is you need to be angry at.
As we’ve always emphasized, our mission is to rid the news of all it’s excess and bring you what you need to know, via various forms of media. At the moment- while we’re on our break- we’re working to bring you more consistent podcasts. Like our newsletters, they’ll be short, (hopefully) witty and contextual. Unlike the newsletters, however, these podcasts will have a central theme and will sometimes branch out into other issues, as the news almost always does.
Our latest, titled “What’s oil got to do with it”, is an 11-minute deep-dive into the current instability in the oil market, where Nigeria stands and how it affects us, the people. We’ve also gone back into history to see where anything similar to the current situation has occurred in the past and how it was handled.
This episode was written and presented by Adetomiwa (with additional vocals from Rafiat), researched by Rafiat and produced by Isu.
Music by:
Seo - Red Sun Falling and Djaji Prime - Hottest in the streets
Both have excellent new projects you should definitely listen to!
Thank you and please listen and share feedback.
Stay safe!
Ps. It should be on Apple Podcasts and there should be a link, but, as always, Apple is moving a bit mad.
